Solar and Wind Farm Projects

Cool Burn are working with leading planning and environmental and planning consultancy firms preparing Environmental Impact Assessments for State Significant Developments across NSW. The commitment to net zero by 2050 supports renewable energy development through solar and wind farm projects in rural regions and bushfire-prone areas.

The NSW Government has committed to develop five Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in the state, the pilot being Central-West Orana REZ, before additional zones are added in the South-West, New England, Illawarra and Hunter-Central Coast regions. Solar and wind farms are broad-scale projects requiring special consideration for bushfire protection in prone areas.

Cool Burn assesses the bushfire risk at a landscape scale and provides a suite of practical bushfire mitigation measures commensurate with the risk, applying our understanding of rural land management objectives and State Significant Development approval requirements.
