Bushfire Preparedness Assessment for LNG Major Hazard Facility
Gas storage facilities are a critical part of New South Wales’ natural gas infrastructure, storing and handling significant volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Due to the scale and nature of operations, these facilities are generally classified as Major Hazard Facilities by the NSW Government. Recognising the bushfire risks associated with such infrastructure, Cool Burn was engaged to undertake a pre-summer bushfire preparedness assessment for an LNG facility located in a bushfire-prone area.

Bushfire Planning for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are a critical component of Australia’s clean energy transition, providing energy storage and load shifting to maximise the value of solar generation and ensure reliable supply during peak demand periods. As these large-scale facilities are increasingly developed in bushfire-prone areas, Cool Burn provides specialist bushfire planning and design services to ensure their safe integration into the energy landscape.

Ecological Monitoring of Travelling Stock Reserves – Upper Hunter Region
Cool Burn delivers ecological monitoring, assessment, and management planning services for biodiversity offsets and areas of ecological significance. In the Upper Hunter Region, Cool Burn was engaged to undertake ecological monitoring and assessment of Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs) – Crown land parcels traditionally used for livestock movement, resting, and grazing. These reserves also contain important Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs), including the critically endangered Box-Gum Grassy Woodland, requiring sensitive management to balance ecological integrity with agricultural function.

Strategic Burn Planning for Biodiversity Stewardship Sites & Conservation Areas
Bushfire plans and prescribed burn strategies for Biodiversity Stewardship Sites and Conservation Areas. With deep expertise in NSW approval pathways and practical land management, Cool Burn delivers low-intensity prescribed burns designed to enhance biodiversity outcomes while ensuring community and asset protection.

Reflections Holiday Parks – Bushfire Preparedness Program
Since 2015, Cool Burn has partnered with Reflections Holiday Parks, a leading tourism operator in New South Wales, to conduct annual, pre-summer bushfire preparedness monitoring and assessment across its extensive portfolio of holiday parks.

Marsden Park North Strategic Bushfire Planning
We were engaged to support the rezoning process for Marsden Park North, located in Sydney’s North West Growth Area. The NSW Government, alongside Council and key stakeholders, is leading this significant project to rezone land for employment, residential, conservation, and recreational uses.
